How does the Daily News include freelancers, if at all, under these wordy policies? (Because freelancers are independent contractors, and subjecting them to behavioral policies makes them in effect employees under federal labor and tax law)

    * When employees enter our newsroom, each shall bury his/her head in the sand and ignore the world of social media and must not under any circumstances acknowledge that Facebook and Twitter are in use by a large percentage of our readers as a source of real-time information nor shall they engage in any behavior that might make them relate to customers, either current or future. Further, employees shall at all times maintain the longstanding computer illiteracy rate that has been the hallmark of journalists since the invention of the Interweb.
