The Des Moines Register endorsed Mitt Romney this evening, saying the Republican presidential candidate deserves “a chance to correct the nation’s fiscal course and to implode the partisan gridlock that has shackled Washington and the rest of America.”

Meanwhile, the New York Times doesn’t surprise anyone when it says “we enthusiastically endorse President Barack Obama for a second term.”

“Is my hometown that bad?” asks Motor City native Jon Busdeker, who forwarded this headline. “Does Fox News hate the auto bailout that much?” (We spotted a similar headline in the Torrington Register Citizen last May. The editor blamed it on newsroom downsizing.) UPDATE: Bart Smith points out that other news outlets — including the Chicago Tribune — left out the F in their shifts headlines today.
