Brian Stelter on newspaper deals, sites he likes, and more

New York Times media reporter Brian Stelter tells WGBH in Boston: “I’m struck by the Chicago Tribune’s series called ‘Chicago Under the Gun,’ which insteadimages of trying to go long and tell a 10,000-word story, tries to go short and tell a 100- or 200-word story about victims of gun violence in Chicago. It’s accompanied by a photo or a series of photos and it tries to tell small stories about victims and I find sometimes that’s more captivating because it may reach more people who are willing and able to read a minute or two worth and look at something without expecting them to read for hours.”
