C-SPAN has tried for years to broadcast the Gridiron Dinner, but it’s never gotten permission from the journalists running the Gridiron Club. Did you try again this year? I asked C-SPAN spokesman Howard Mortman. “We had informal conversations with several of the senior Gridiron folks and understood there was no appetite for TV cameras,” he says.
