In the time it takes these people to tweet their ignorance, they could be googling a name and figuring it out..
Public tweets and blogs and texts like that are code for: “Isn’t it interesting that I don’t know about this person/event/fact? Even my ignorance is fascinating!”
It’s the Twitter equivalent of people who can’t wait for somebody to mention a TV show so they can loudly announce, with a fake-rueful grimace, that they don’t watch TV.
