Provo Daily Herald kills its daily opinions page

Two weeks ago, the Provo Daily Herald — a Lee Enterprises newspaper — cut 10% of its workforce.
Last week, the newspaper laid off its executive editor.

This week, the Herald stopped printing its daily opinions page, which included editorials, wire opinions and cartoons.

From the Editor’s Note:

We will have an opinions page every Sunday, and it will be made up of community voices. We will publish letters to the editor and guest opinions from our readers and other members of the community, as well as the occasional debate between leaders on specific topics. The Herald will occasionally weigh in if there is an issue that affects us as a newspaper, but for the most part, we will focus on community opinions.
